As an independent optician, we’re not tied to one supplier – which means we can source lenses tailored specifically to your needs. Whether you require the latest in lightweight, thin designs, advanced varifocals, or specialist coatings, we work with trusted manufacturers to provide the perfect solution for your lifestyle and vision requirements.
Progressive lenses - Varifocals
Varifocal glasses, also known as progressive lenses, are spectacles that correct your vision for different distances. They feature a smooth, continuous transition of lens power, with the top section providing distance vision, the middle for intermediate vision (like computers), and the bottom for near vision (reading). Varifocals are a convenient alternative to bifocals or carrying multiple pairs of glasses.
Since your visual and lifestyle requirements vary, we can offer you the best progressive lens to match your individual needs. Our dispensing opticians work with Hoya and their award-winning iD FreeForm Design Technology and 6 lens designs.
Occupational lenses
Occupational lenses are specialized lenses, also known as office or computer lenses, designed to provide clear vision for people who spend significant time working at intermediate and near distances, such as on a computer or doing close-up hobbies. Unlike traditional single-vision reading glasses or full-distance varifocals, they offer optimized zones of clarity for screens, paperwork, and other tasks within an arm’s length to a few meters. These lenses help reduce eye strain, neck strain, and headaches by allowing wearers to comfortably view various points at their workstation without constantly moving their head or switching glasses.

Single vision and Digital lenses
Single vision lenses have one prescription across the entire lens, correcting for either short-sightedness (myopia), long-sightedness (hyperopia), and/or astigmatism. They are used for general purposes like reading, computer work, driving, and other activities that require clear vision at a single distance. People typically wear single vision lenses to correct a specific vision problem, or after the age of 40 to address presbyopia with a dedicated pair of reading spectacles.
Digital lenses are single vision lenses that incorporate a boosting zone for help with computer and near vision tasks. They will also help to reduce digital eye strain and are ideal for those aged between 13 to 45 and spend 2+ hours a day on digital devices.
Myopia Management
Myopia is a progressive eye disorder which affects vision, quality of life and increases eye health risks across a person’s lifetime. Treatments are available to slow down the progression, or worsening, of childhood myopia. These include special types of spectacle lenses, soft contact lenses, ortho-k contact lenses and atropine eye drops. We can offer all types of treatment, but our spectacle lens options are MiyoSmart from Hoya and MyoCare from Zeiss. Please see our separate page on Myopia management for further details.
Photochromatic
Photochromic lenses are eyeglass lenses that automatically darken in bright sunlight and become clear again when you go indoors, acting as both prescription glasses and sunglasses in one. They achieve this change using special photochromic molecules embedded in the lens, which react to ultraviolet (UV) light by changing their molecular structure to absorb light and darken. This process is reversible, and the lenses return to their clear state once the UV light is gone
Driving lenses
There are various lenses designed to help with your driving needs. Some have a contrast-enhancing filter that helps with contrast, colour perception and better glare reduction. The lens design can be further optimised for distance and dashboard viewing. Other lenses can adapt to daytime light conditions, changing from Olive green through to copper and brown. This is a lens that is polarised to help with glare and contrast.
